The Warhawks were in control of the game from first puck drop to the final buzzer, out-shooting the Panthers 44 - 12. The Warhawks gradually ramped up pressure, effectively working together, moving the puck and keeping the Panthers scrambling, netting 3 goals in the first, 4 in the second and finishing strong with 5 goals in the third. The 12 Warhawk goals were scored by 10 different players, demonstrating how well they were working together as a team. The newest members of the team made an impressive contribution to both the defensive and offensive efforts. New Warhawk players Gavan Fink, Zacariyya Scavotto and Leo Steiner all netted their first high school goals. Zacariyya and Leo also assisted on multiple goals. 8th grade defenders Max Marr and Leo Steiner were able to repeatedly deny the Panthers scoring opportunities. Kudos also go to sophomore Tom Hetherington for scoring a hat-trick spread across all three periods.
The Warhawks play next on Sun 4/29 @ 5:25 against Gonzaga. They hope to continue the same effective teamwork and puck movement against this strong opponent.
