Game #2:
Warhawks Chop Down Woodgrove/Clarke 10-4

The Warhawks started quickly and never looked back Friday night with a convincing 10-4 win over Woodgrove/Clarke County. The Warhawks were paced by sophomore Kamron Sarmadi who opened the scoring 1:28 seconds into the first period and finished the evening with his first NVSHL hat-trick. Adding to the scoring were senior Matt Bacigalupo and sophomore Theo Lenz each added two goals and two assists, freshman Jason Calem added two goals and an assist and senior captain Dylan Cass who chipped in with a goal and three assists. The game also saw a unique stat when both goalies recorded an assist in the game. Alex Tudan played out as a forward and assisted on Kamron’s second goal of the game while Dean Kern made a nice outlet pass from his goal crease in the final seconds of the first period that led to Matt Bacigalupo’s second goal of the evening. Freshman Justin Shayne kept his scoring streak alive when he assisted on Jason Calem’s goal in the first period. This gives Justin an assist in each of his first two games as a Warhawk. The game also marked the debut of speedy winger freshman Ben Kiyokawa who played very well in his first NVSHL game. The hard luck award goes to sophomore Mike Gros who was robbed multiple times by the lighting quick glove of the Woordgrove goalie. The Warhawks don’t get much time to enjoy this win, as Paul VI high school will face the Warhawks the following evening, at the Ashburn Ice House. For more info view game stats and photos.
