Click here for a letter from the PVAHA President, Linda Jondo, to touch base on the current state of the Pandemic, provide several recommendations on behalf of the Affiliate that teams/leagues should consider following, and offer the COVID-19 Playbook which outlines the steps teams need to follow to ensure proper notification is being followed when someone (Parent, Coach, Player, Team Official) has tested positive or has come in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID must follow.
The Affiliate strongly recommends the following:
• There should be no use of locker rooms in rinks, even if permitted by the rink.
• Please limit the number of parents allowed in a building to one per family and no siblings. Some rinks now have implemented a ZERO spectator policy.
• Continue to wear face masks and wash your hands.
• Do not gather in large groups, either in the lobby or outside in the parking lot.
• Stop huddles for goal celebrations
• Stay physically distanced on benches.
• Do not…
…gather for chalk talks or time-out talks.
…share equipment, i.e., bring your own personally marked water bottles.
…use the penalty boxes.
…allow tailgating or gatherings of parents/siblings in parking lots.
If anyone (Player, Coach, Parent, Sibling) tests positive, or has come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that you follow PVAHA and CDC Policy and notify the team manager as soon as possible, by sending an email to Jen Cooper at warhawkicehockey@gmail.com and jencooper@rohintongroup.com .
Anyone who has tested positive should plan to isolate for up to 14 days, and anyone who has come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID will need to quarantine for 14 days. This means they should refrain from all team activities as well as any other activities (Skills Lessons, HS Hockey, other sports, etc.) until the 14-day quarantine is complete.
As a reminder, it’s important that we all do everything we can to stop the spread of this virus so that we can keep our families safe and allow our kids to continue to play hockey!!
