Congrats to the Warhawks on starting off the 2018 spring season with a solid 7-1 victory over McLean. The Warhawks started off slow, spending lots of time on defense and getting out-shot by the Highlanders 4 - 6 in both first and second periods. Despite the extremely low shot counts, the Warhawks managed to net 50% of the shots they did take.
Scoring was led off by sophomore Nick Willey with two impressive unassisted goals in the first. Sophomores Will Albrittain and TJ Ezzard picked up two more in the 2nd with an assist from 8th grader Zakariyya Scavotto. At the start of the third the Warhawks let up some and allowed the Highlanders to score their only goal. But that was quickly answered by the Hunter brothers dynamic due. 8th grader Jack Hunter scored his first high school goal with an assist by his big brother junior Jeff Hunter. The third period was finished off with goals from freshman Justin Machovina assisted by 8th grader Leo Steiner and sophomore TJ Ezzard. And then 8th grader Max Marr capped off the game with his first high school goal, unassisted.
The Warhawks' next game is Sun 4/15 @ 3:50 pm versus Langley.
