Game #3: Wildcats Too Much For The Warhawks

The Warhawks faced a mixed Centreville/Fairfax squad stacked with a collection of top tier travel players on Friday night. Playing without their captain, Kamron Sarmadi, and struggling to adjust to the aggressive, hard hitting play, the Warhawks were no match for the Wildcats. The Wildcats quickly jumped out to a 3 - 0 lead before junior defenseman Noah Thompson got the Warhawks on the scoreboard, netting his first NVSHL goal with an assist going to sophomore Ben Kiyokawa. The Wildcats picked up the pace in the second scoring 4 additional unanswered goals and punishing the Warhawks with a series of painful and often questionable/late hits. The Warhawks managed to slow the Wildcats down in the third, limiting them to just 1 additional goal but also suffering multiple injuries in the process. Most frustrating of of all was a fractured wrist for sophomore Justin Shayne when he was hammered into the boards behind the net. Justin had just recently resumed play after missing early part of the season due to a leg injury. The Warhawks are hoping for Justin's speedy recovery and looking to bounce back from this difficult loss in their next game on Fri 12/18 @ 6:10 pm at Reston against Dominion.
